Frequently Asked Questions

What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?

We are dedicated to providing excellence in dental care; to giving you sophisticated dental treatments using the latest technology in a caring environment of competence, enthusiasm and a concern for your well-being. At each visit, we promise to explain everything thoroughly and to take the time to listen to your concerns about your dental experience.

How can I have whiter teeth?

There are a number of procedures available to help whiten your smile, from at-home bleaching products to our customized supervised treatments. We also offer a one-hour in-office whitening method. Dr. Bell and Dr. Honor can help evaluate your potential for whitening your teeth, based on their current color and the causes of any discoloration. Once you have decided on the most appropriate method, you’ll probably spend anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks undergoing a series of simple whitening treatments. Most patients can safely experience a dramatic improvement.

What is Cosmetic Dentistry?

Cosmetic Dentistry is the art and science of designing wonderful smiles. It involves all aspects of general dentistry with a special emphasis to assure that individual teeth, as well as your smile, look their very best. Cosmetic dentistry focuses on the aesthetics of the whole smile. New advances allow the dentist to shape, lengthen, lighten, and straighten teeth to make the restoration look as natural as possible and achieve a natural looking smile.

Can my jagged teeth be corrected?

Absolutely. Contouring your front teeth can produce incredible results in improving your smile. Using a specialized tool, the professionals at The Dental Center can painlessly reshape your teeth and give you the smile of your dreams.

I have a missing tooth. What can you do for me?

You have a few options to choose from. You can opt for a bridge. They fill in the space left by lost teeth, but they also help support the surrounding teeth. Another option is a dental implant. An implant is inserted directly in your jaw bone and will become a permanent fixture in your mouth. If your tooth is gone, but the root is still intact, you can place a new crown on the root.

What about financing the dental procedure?

Our financial policy allows us to provide you with the best treatment available and does not limit your health to just what your plan covers. We will be happy to submit your insurance paperwork for you at the time of treatment. If you have any questions about your insurance, please feel free to call for more information. We offer several payment options for your convenience. We accept cash, as well as all of the major credit cards.

Will dental insurance pay for everything?

Your insurance is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company. We are not a party to that contract. Because of that, we don’t know every condition and requirement for your particular insurance plan. Dental insurance is not meant to be a “pay-all”; it is only meant to help “share” the cost of your dental care, and many routine dental services are not always covered.

Will you process my insurance claims?

Yes, we’d be happy to process your claims. As your dental health care providers, our relationship is with you, not your insurance company. We will gladly process your insurance claims as a courtesy; however, all charges remain your responsibility from the date services are rendered. Please speak with our business staff if you ever have any questions about the management of your account.

How does the doctor keep up to date on all of the current techniques and materials?

Dr. David Bell, Dr. Brian Bell and Dr. Barbara Honor subscribe to the latest industry journals to keep tabs on research and development in the dental industry. They also take time on a regular basis for continuing education, and ensures that the staff does the same. As a team and as individuals, our office makes it our responsibility to be familiar with the latest techniques and materials available.

Do you accept referrals?

We always welcome new patients. Most of our new patients come to us as referrals from our existing clientele. We’re eager to help the families and friends of our patients.

Do you accept my insurance plan?

Our office accepts nearly all of the major insurance plans. We’re well-versed in the latest coverage trends, and are more than happy to discuss the particulars of your plan with you prior to any treatments you may undergo.

What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

In case of a dental emergency, please call the telephone Number of the office you regularly visit. A message will give you detailed instructions on how to reach the doctor on call.

What payment options do you provide?

We accept cash, personal checks and all major credit cards. We are also pleased to offer several financing plans, some of which are interest-free.

What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?

Our entire practice team is well-versed in state-of-the-art infection control techniques designed to ensure patient safety. This goes beyond wearing gloves and face masks to prevent passing germs. It includes a specialized sterilization center made especially to cater to your safety.

I’ve always dreamed of having whiter teeth. Can you help me?

Yes, in fact we’ve noticed that all of our patients want whiter teeth and have concluded it’s a universal desire. Tooth whitening removes stains from the teeth caused by coffee, tea, tobacco, food and red wine. We’ve been using tooth whiteners for years and have never seen any adverse effect on teeth or gum tissue. With our tooth whitening procedure, we can help your teeth become up to nine shades lighter.

How can I replace missing teeth?

A complete set of natural looking teeth not only improves your confidence and self-esteem, but it also increases the longevity of your natural teeth by removing stress placed on them. We have several procedures to help replace missing teeth, including implants, bridges, and natural looking partial or full dentures. It is not necessary to live with missing teeth any longer.

Will it hurt?

We’ve solved the mystery to comfortable dentistry. If you haven’t been to a dental office in a while, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Today’s dentistry is faster than ever before, and procedures are virtually pain-free. All of our staff members are highly trained to make each of your visits as pleasant and as comfortable as possible. We have many options to help you relax here. Patients have been so relaxed that they have even fallen asleep in our dental chairs!

I have always received the finest dental care at your office. Do you accept referrals?

We would be grateful and honored to receive your family and friends as part of our family. Most of our patients are referred to us by word-of-mouth, and we consider that to be one of the highest compliments our patients can give.

Do you have a payment plan?

We offer several payment options for your convenience. We accept cash, checks, Visa, and MasterCard, and American Express. And because your smile is important to us, we also offer Care Credit Financing to those who qualify.
